    Mark–

What happened to the student protest movement against Israel’s war on Gaza?

For months, it was everywhere: Encampments. Teach-ins. Divestment campaigns. Peace marches. But today, you can walk across many of those same campuses without seeing any sign of protest whatsoever.

Using freedom of information requests, The Intercept has obtained more than 20,000 pages of documents about how universities cracked down on student protests and silenced dissent against Israel’s genocide. And what we’ve uncovered so far is truly stunning and raises troubling questions about who universities have collaborated with to suppress student protests.

That’s why we’ve launched a major investigation to expose who’s behind the crackdown, how it was implemented, and how universities ramped up their surveillance of students. It’s a huge undertaking to analyze and report out this mountain of information. And we need your support to get this kind of crucial investigative work in front of the public.

To complete a project of this scale the way it should be done will require significant resources — not just for the impressive reporting work, but also for editing, fact-checking, and legal vetting from top First Amendment experts.
