| | Thank you for contacting the White House—Happy Thanksgiving!
As Americans travel to visit family and friends this holiday weekend, we are seeing a dose of the economic relief President Donald J. Trump is fighting to deliver. After inheriting the worst inflation crisis in 40 years from the previous administration, President Trump’s actions to unleash American energy, slash regulations, and crush inflation are translating into lower gas prices and a decrease in grocery costs.
This Thanksgiving, a table of classic dishes for 10 people will cost 5 percent less than last year. Turkeys are down more than 16 percent, dinner rolls are down 22 percent, frozen vegetables are down 15 percent, and classic Thanksgiving foods like stuffing, gravy mix, fresh cranberries, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pies all cost less than 1 year ago.
The effects of President Trump’s economic comeback are also evident far beyond the dinner table. Data shows the American economy added a blockbuster 119,000 jobs in September—more than doubling economists’ expectations. Americans’ wages are up 3.8 percent over the year, and the Trump Administration is on track to make up one-third of the $3,000 in real wages lost under the previous administration by the end of this year.
Make no mistake: This is not “mission accomplished.” Americans are still paying far too much after 4 years of reckless spending and regulation. That is why President Trump is fighting relentlessly to deliver bold, structural changes that will bring lasting relief to all Americans.
As families and friends gather around the Thanksgiving table this year, there is so much to be thankful for. The economy is roaring back, a new era of peace is sweeping all around the world, our sovereignty is being swiftly restored, and the American spirit is stronger than ever before.
This Thanksgiving, we are reminded that, with faith in our God, love for our families, and pride in our Flag, our Nation’s brightest days lie ahead.
