Trump gets booed, takes world’s most expensive nap at Knicks game

Have you ever forced taxpayers to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on security costs, shut down a massive chunk of the United States’ largest city, and inconvenienced tens of thousands of people, only to be booed mercilessly, take a televised nap, and ultimately jinx a professional sports team whose fans have been waiting more than 50 years to see them win a championship?
Well, after Monday night, President Donald Trump can answer yes to that very specific question.
The malignant narcissist in chief shut down a large swath of one of the busiest areas of Manhattan so that he could attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs, even though he’s crapped on the NBA for being too “woke” and slammed athletes in the league for advocating for racial justice.
Fans were not happy, as they had to wait for hours outside of the stadium to go through the extra security screenings necessary when a president attends a large event.
And they let him know they were displeased during the national anthem at the start of the game, mercilessly booing when his sweaty, orange face was plastered on the jumbotron inside Madison Square Garden. It was the one and only time Trump was shown on the screen in the arena.
Then, during the game, fans captured images and video of Trump in a luxury suite with his eyes closed, seemingly napping at the event that he just had to attend despite the fact that his presence would be a massive nuisance and a distraction for the players and fans alike.
If he wanted to nap, he could have spared everyone the inconvenience and watched the game on television like the rest of us mere mortals—as he rudely suggested we do when asked about the optics of his attendance at an event where tickets cost multiple thousands of dollars each.
And because everything Trump touches dies, the Knicks went on to lose the game—their first loss of the entire playoffs that put an end to their historic 13-game win streak.
Embarrassingly, after the game, Trump claimed that he wasn’t booed—likely because admitting as such would damage his thin, bruised skin.
“I thought it was amazing,” Trump told a reporter after the game who asked what Trump thought of the fans’ reception to him. “I think mostly cheers, it was loud and it was very enthusiastic.”
That deluded response gives shades of former White House press secretary Sean Spicer claiming Trump’s first inauguration had the biggest crowds in history.
To be fair, Trump’s response would ring true if you were watching the game on ABC, as the network muffled the audio so the boos were not as prominent. Looks like the network is still scared of facing repercussions from the dictator-wannabe.
It wasn’t just MSG where Trump received loud boos. At bars and watch parties across New York City, patrons booed, jeered, and flipped the bird at the screen at the one time Trump’s face was shown.
Because Trump is such a fragile little man, the sycophants at Fox News tried to cheer up their Dear Leader by lying about the reception he received in the arena.
“Chants erupted throughout Madison Square Garden during Game 3 of the NBA Finals with President Trump in attendance,” Fox News wrote in a post on X.
Of course, the cheers of “USA” were during the anthem when Trump was not on the jumbotron. The one time he was on the screen, there were boos. And in an article on FoxNews.com, the author described the boos as, “a massive reaction from a sold-out crowd.”
I guess that’s one way to put it.
So to recap, Trump ruined New Yorkers’ experience, spent massive amounts of taxpayer dollars, and jinxed the team he wanted to win. Thanks, Don!
