British; 'Lehi' was an acronym for 'Fighters for the Freedom of Israel.' During
WW II, Stern went so far as to seek an alliance with Nazi Germany and Fascist
Italy in his battle to create a 'new totalitarian Hebrew republic' free of the
British...."
