Defend Our Courts e-mail of Wed Aug 20 2025
We are ringing the alarm bell about the upcoming November 2025 Pennsylvania Supreme Court retention election. Even if you aren’t in Pennsylvania the outcome of this race will deeply impact you.
The narrow Democratic majority on Pennsylvania’s supreme court is a dam that is holding back some of the most deranged Republican election rigging and gerrymandering conceivable.
Take for instance the cursed 2018 Republican map for Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District which the Dem majority on the PA Supreme Court was able to prevent: |

If we lose the Democratic majority on the PA Supreme Court expect more monstrosities like this one. The entire PA Congressional map will be toon town.
Democrats rely on Pennsylvania for seven Democratic House seats and there are a minimum of four Republican seats that we could flip in 2026. If we lose the majority and a new Republican court is able to implement their map it could mean 17 Republican congressional seats in PA.
And good luck trying to win PA in a Presidential election. In 2024 MAGA tried to invalidate hundreds of thousands of Democratic ballots for mistakes as simple as not properly sealing mail in ballot envelopes, stray dots, or incomplete circles. The Dem court ruled that these votes must be counted. If our justices are voted out in November these voter protections go away.
This race is not getting the attention that it needs and unless we rapidly mobilize, we are about to get steamrolled. The Republicans are organized, mobilizing voters, and have over $30 million raised to sway this race. Democrats have prepared nothing so far.
Pennsylvania’s State Constitution requires that every ten years State Supreme Court Justices face a reelection vote.
The three Democratic Justices responsible for the Democratic majority on the PA Supreme court are up for reelection this Nov. and MAGA has launched an unprecedented full scale assault on them to ensure they are removed.
Their removal would mean a full GOP redistricting of the PA congressional map, a total abortion ban, and no accountability for MAGA vote rigging in 2026 and 2028. PA will go so far to the right it will be unrecognizable. |

| For months MAGA has been saturating Pennsylvania voters with attacks against these justices and registering voters. Democrats on the other hand have done next to nothing and if the election were held today we would lose. We are on the brink of collapse.
Sadly PA’s rules of judicial ethics prohibits these justices from campaigning for themselves meaning they are completely defenseless in the face of the MAGA onslaught they are up against and they need our help 🥺🐶
