You deserve to know what the government does with your tax dollars. Period.  Back in February, the Trump administration quietly took down a federal spending database that provided public access to important information about how the executive branch is spending congressionally allocated funds, leaving only a “Page Not Found” message in its wake. The apportionments database is mandated by the law. Its disappearance wasn’t just an affront to you and your right to know where your tax dollars are going. It was an unsubtle attempt to skirt Congress’s spending directives and undermine their authority — and your voice in the process. POGO championed and helped pass the reform that created the apportionments database in the first place. We were not going to let the White House undo this crucial transparency reform without a fight. The White House has finally put the apportionments database back online. You helped make this happen, Mark. This is an important restitution. The administration cannot just brazenly flout the law and expect not to face repercussions.
