Mark–

The Trump administration continues to tell grotesque lies about ICE’s use of deadly force and the killing of Renee Good, calling her a “deranged lunatic” and “domestic terrorist.”

We won’t let them get away with it.

The Intercept has filed Freedom of Information Act requests to investigate and expose ICE’s egregious patterns of abuse, violence, and civil rights violations and hold accountable those most responsible.

However, we know from past experience that forcing the Trump administration to comply with FOIA requests can be long and costly, and we’re committed to fight to find out what happened every time ICE agents use deadly force.

That’s why we’re asking you to donate $5 to help force the Trump administration to comply with the Freedom of Information Act and support our ongoing investigations into ICE’s reign of terror on American streets.

If you’ve saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

After ICE agent Jonathan Ross fatally shot Renee Good in Minneapolis, the Trump administration deployed another 1,000 immigration agents to the area to suppress dissent.

That’s on top of the roughly 2,000 federal agents already in the area to conduct the “largest immigration operation ever,” according to Trump administration officials.

In multiple confrontations in the Minneapolis area since the killing of Good, agents have issued veiled threats of violence to civilians, asking one resident, “You did not learn from what just happened?” and telling another, “You don’t fucking learn — what’s fuckin’ happened in the last couple of days.”

But the people of Minneapolis refuse to be cowed or bullied — and so do we.

The Intercept is committed to using every tool at our disposal to force the Trump administration to comply with the Freedom of Information Act, and we’re counting on your financial support to make sure we have the resources to push these fights as long as it takes.

Will you donate $5 to help support our ongoing investigations into ICE’s reign of terror on American streets?

Thank you,

The Intercept team
