    Mark,

On September 5, 2025, President Trump announced that the 2026 G20 Summit will be hosted at his for-profit business, Trump National Doral, near Miami, Florida.

Hosting the G20 Summit at Trump National Doral would require world leaders to spend money at a business owned by the president to participate in the event, and literally pay Trump tribute.

    This is beyond corrupt, Mark.

Trump has claimed he won’t profit from the event, but even if he decided to host it for free or at cost, it would still generate priceless publicity for his business.

This isn’t new. Back in 2020, Trump tried to pull the same stunt with the G7 at the same property. We applied pressure, called out the corruption, and ultimately, Trump backed off. This is the same exact grift, and Donald Trump is still trying to profit from the presidency.

That’s why we just filed complaints with the State Department and Department of Homeland Security demanding investigations into Trump’s potential violations of the Constitution’s Emoluments Clauses.

Just as Trump’s other properties profited during his presidency, Trump National Doral stands to reap a major financial windfall from hosting this summit.

Foreign officials and accompanying visitors would be expected to patronize the president’s luxury resort, and city officials will likely direct business to the resort.

This would further enrich the president while potentially violating the Foreign and Domestic Emoluments Clauses of the Constitution, which prevent the president from accepting gifts and money from foreign governments, or from federal or US state government entities.

Let’s make one thing clear, Mark: It is not normal for a summit of this kind to be hosted at a president's business.

Hosting an international summit at a property he owns and profits from raises corruption concerns and increases the risk that foreign policy decisions are made based on which countries spend the most at his property to curry favor.

We can’t let Trump get away with this. Just like we did during his first term, CREW’s doing everything in our power to shut this down.
