Seth on "people who have conflicting beliefs about the nature of reality"
----------
In the book, The Way Toward Health; in Chapter 13: on June 20, 1984, by Jane Roberts, Seth gave us a great example of how people can have conflicting beliefs about the nature of reality.
In this Session, Seth talked about, "a hypothetical case", which had to do with a man named "Donald."
For myself, I have occasionally wondered about whether, this really was just a "hypothetical case".
-----
Seth also talked about coincidences, in Session 825, where he said the following.
++++++++++
"The coincidences that seem to happen, the chance encounters, the unexpected events — all of these come into your experience because in one way or another you have attracted them, even though their occurrences might seem to have insurmountable odds against them. Those odds — those impediments — do not exist in Framework 2."

In the book, The Way Toward Health, Seth gave us this information about people who have conflicting beliefs about the nature of reality, on June 20, 1984.
This was about two and a half months before Jane passed away.
That is, this was about two and a half months before Seth would permanently cease communicating through Jane Roberts here in physical reality.
Perhaps being aware of this possibility, Seth himself, may have decided instead to subtlety drop us some hints about something that might occur in our future? Something that had to do with a man named Donald.

-----
Seth himself did occasionally talk about possible future probable realities.
Perhaps the most well known example of this, had to do with what Seth said in Session 586, when he talked about the possible future coming of Christ, in the year 2075.
There have also been several other, places within the Seth teachings, where Seth talked about the future. Such as in what he had to say about our overpopulation problem in Session 484, and in what he had to say about Jane and Rob in Session 455 and in Session 230.
-----
For myself, some of what Seth had to say here, also reminds me of what he had to say about Augustus One and Augustus Two in Session 628.
Here then, is Seth.
++++++++++
"Conflicting beliefs about the nature of reality can bring about dilemmas in almost any form, for the individual will always try to make sense out of his or her surroundings, and try to at least see the world as a cohesive whole.
"Some of the most complicated ways of trying to put conflicting beliefs together are often mental or emotional ones. The more incohesive the individual feels the world to be, the greater his or her efforts will be expended in an attempt to put the world back together.
"Some people possess beliefs that are so in opposition to each other that they are forced into some of the most complicated mental or emotional footwork. Their problem will seem so gigantic that only some interference from an outside source will be sufficient to give the individual a sense of wholeness and sanity. A person may become so frightened of using his or her own power of choice or action that the construction of an artificial superbeing is created — a seemingly sublime personage who gives orders to the individual involved.
"(Long pause at 4:25.) Again, let’s use a hypothetical case — this time of a man named Donald.
"Donald may be so terrified of making choices, so indecisive, that he constructs an imaginary superbeing who orders him to do thus and so. If a decision comes up on a job, for example, then the superbeing will order Donald to take one course or another. Donald has given up accepting responsibility for his actions. This imaginary personage may say that it is God, or a famous hero from the present or the past, or Jesus Christ, or Mohammed, and the personality involved will be quite certain that such is the case.
"Donald, for example, may hear the hallucinated voice of the god or hero. The voice may be so frequent that it becomes highly distracting, or it may only appear in times of undue stress.
"Again, we are starting out with a fairly simple picture. Our friend might also be convinced that he himself is evil, unworthy, or even depraved, the lowest of men or women. In such circumstances an individual might then construct an artificial devil or demon who annoys him constantly, and even orders acts of a highly destructive nature.
"The individual, like Donald, has also given up the responsibility for his own choices, and feels that he or she cannot be held responsible for any destructive acts that might be committed.
"(Long pause at 4:37.) Any of the two kinds of personalities mentioned might also begin to feel persecuted, chased, or harassed by some outside agency. Among the agencies chosen, of course, are the FBI, the CIA, the Russian Secret Police, the Ku Klux Klan, or any controversial group given to acts of violence for whatever purposes.
"Sometimes such episodes last for long periods of time, but they can also appear for just several days, clear up spontaneously, and return again perhaps years later."

Then, along with this, Seth also had the following to say as well.
++++++++++
"One of the most rare and extraordinary developments that can occur in schizophrenic behavior is the construction of a seeming superbeing of remarkable power — one who is able to convince other people of his divinity."
"The person so involved must be extremely disturbed to begin with: up in arms against social, national, or religious issues, and therefore able to serve as a focus point for countless other individuals affected in the same manner.
"(Long pause at 3:42.) In a fashion, Adolf Hitler fell into such a classification. Although he lacked that characteristic mark of speaking for a superbeing, this was because he frequently regarded himself as the superbeing."

So, is it possible that what was really going on here, is that Seth was actually trying to leave us some clues about a possible future probable reality that involved a person named Donald, who frequently regards himself as a superbeing.
For myself, I don't really know for sure, but given what has been happening here in the US recently and given what Seth had to say about coincidences, I don't believe that all of this was just some interesting "coincidence."
