Seth Weekly Wisdom: Your Relationships Are an Honest Mirror

Dear Mark M,

Have you ever looked around at the people closest to you — your friends, family members, colleagues, inspiring acquaintances, and wondered why these particular people are in your life?

Seth gives us an intriguing answer: they are there because, at the deepest level, they reflect you.

They mirror the beliefs you hold about yourself, about love, money, health, worthiness, and what is possible, etc.

💬  Quote of the Week

“If you look about you at your relatives, friends, acquaintances, and business associates, you will also see what kind of a person you are, for you are drawn to them as they are drawn to you, through very basic inner similarities.”

🔬  Integration: Examine Your Beliefs Through Your Relationships

This week, we’ll use the reflections others offer us as a path of self-discovery.

Here’s a simple way to approach it:

  1. Who are the 3–5 significant people in your life right now? (These are the ones you spend the most time with or think about most often.) List them.

  2. For each person:

    a. What are the top 3 qualities or behaviors you most admire or
    appreciate in them?

    b. What are the top 3 qualities or behaviors that frustrate, irritate, or disappoint you about them?

  3. For each person, ask yourself: “What are 3 beliefs this person seems to hold?” Examples: “Life is hard,” “People can’t be trusted,” “Love requires sacrifice,” “Money comes easily,” “I am always supported,” “Joy is my natural state,” etc.

  4. Beside each of their beliefs, honestly write: “Yes, I hold this too” or “This is exactly what I’m ready to release.”

  5. Notice how you and this person reinforce these shared beliefs together. What do you say, do, or silently agree upon that keeps the pattern alive

  6. What new beliefs would you like to embrace?
