Mark, we wanted to make sure you heard the news: The Trump admin is trying to prevent discovery in CREW’s DOGE records case—again.

We’ve taken them to court before—and won. Now they’re trying to stop our fight for transparency all over again because it’s clear they don’t want the American people to know the truth about DOGE.

We’ve only gotten that far because of supporters like you. So we’re asking again:

Here’s what’s happening: On March 18, the so-called “Department of Government Efficiency” filed a petition for a writ of certiorari in the Supreme Court, marking its latest attempt to prevent discovery in our lawsuit that’s holding DOGE to the Freedom of Information Act and Federal Records Act.

Before that, a DC Circuit Court of Appeals panel unanimously ruled that CREW is entitled to discovery to help the Court determine whether DOGE is subject to FOIA and the full Court of Appeals rejected the government’s request to reconsider that ruling.

Mark, let’s call this appeal what it is: an obvious delay tactic to keep the American public in the dark about DOGE’s reckless operation, famously led by Trump ally Elon Musk, and its disastrous impact on our country and beyond.

The courts have already ruled in our favor. Instead of complying, DOGE is stalling—hoping to run out the clock and avoid the transparency that we both need and deserve.

The Trump administration wants to keep what DOGE did and how they did it secret because they know the public wouldn’t support their extreme actions and cuts to key services.

But we’re not going to let them get away with it.

That’s why we sued to force DOGE to keep records and comply with records requests—and the court ruled that we were right: DOGE needs to be accountable to the public.

The court granted us discovery, including sworn answers to written questions, documents and depositions of DOGE and Acting Administrator Amy Gleason.

At every step, the Trump administration has tried to shield DOGE from accountability. Now, they are once again appealing to the Supreme Court. They’re still trying to block discovery after losing in lower courts.

This is the same delay playbook, designed to keep the public in the dark.

Mark, transparency matters. No matter what, we’re going to keep fighting for transparency at any level—for as long as it takes.
