DHS has been terrorizing communities, snatching people from their homes without warrants, detaining and deporting people without due process, arresting protestors, defying court orders, spying on the public, and even killing American citizens.

Secretary Noem has enabled this agency to act as if it is above the law.

You deserve accountability from DHS, and we must band together and demand it. Accountability starts with impeaching and removing Noem. Tell Congress: Impeach DHS Secretary Kristi Noem

Under Noem's leadership, the Department of Homeland Security has committed widespread abuses of power. Congress must impeach her.

It's time for Congress to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Under Noem's leadership, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has transformed into a full-fledged secret police force, conducting what a federal judge in West Virginia recently described as “an assault on the constitutional order.” DHS has unleashed violence in American cities, undertaken a systematic campaign to violate constitutional rights, and worked to thwart oversight at every turn. Noem must be held responsible for these abuses of power, and impeachment is the best way to do it. 

It was clear Noem needed to be impeached before she appeared in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee earlier today, but it's even more obvious after the hearing. Despite calls to resign from members of her own party, such as Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), Noem made no indication that she planned to change course or take responsibility for the abuses at DHS. In more normal times, losing the support of so many fellow Republicans probably would have pushed a political appointee like Noem to resign on her own accord. But integrity, accountability, and basic political norms no longer rule the day. Congress needs to take matters into its own hands. 

Noem's tenure at DHS has wrought so many abuses of power and abuses of people that Congress could choose any number as the basis for an investigation, impeachment, and ultimately, conviction. Her immigration crackdown, in particular, has become a threat to the safety and rights of people across the United States. A cabinet secretary is not responsible for every action by every person in her agency, but Noem has encouraged agents to crack down on protestors, repeatedly defied court orders, and restricted congressional inspections of detention facilities — among other abuses. This pattern of illegal behavior cannot be allowed to continue. Congress must uphold the Constitution by impeaching Noem and removing her from office.
