“Very, Very Soon”: Trump Promises UFO File Release as Pressure Mounts in Congress

In what could become one of the most consequential moments in modern history, or perhaps all history, President Donald Trump has announced that long-awaited government files on unidentified aerial phenomena will be released “very, very soon.”

Speaking at a recent public event, Trump confirmed that a federal review of classified material had uncovered “very interesting documents,” adding that the public would soon have the opportunity to examine at least an initial tranche of records.

The announcement follows a directive issued earlier this year ordering agencies to begin identifying and declassifying UFO-related materials, reflecting what insiders describe as a rapidly accelerating shift toward transparency. His statement came after Rep. Ana Paulina Luna expressed frustration that the Pentagon had missed a deadline to release 43 known and identified UFO files showing

Representative Anna Paulina Luna said, “We will be getting those files,” after reporting that the Pentagon missed an April 14 deadline to provide dozens of videos documenting alleged encounters with unidentified anomalous phenomena.

She had previously sent a letter seeking more than 45 videos which are said to show “Tic-Tac” objects, cigar shaped objects and classic UFOs. The videos were recorded in war zones, over restricted airspace and over the ocean. There are said to be videos from the areas of Iran, Syria, various U.S. bases and over Lake Huron. On February 3, 2023, a U.S. jet shot down an unknown object over the lake, and no information about it has ever been released. As far back as 1947, President Harry S. Truman ordered that unknown craft be shot down if they refused to identify themselves by radio.

Luna hairs the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, said on Tuesday, “No one from the Pentagon had responded until we reached out, and it appears that someone did not pass the letter to the appropriate authorities. How convenient.”

Rep. Tim Burchett has also spoken out recently regarding the Pentagon’s stonewalling. “The government is not telling us everything,” Burchett said in a recent interview. He suggested that technology “not of this world” may be involved.

Burchett’s position reflects growing bipartisan frustration in Washington. Lawmakers, including Representative Luna, have pushed for the release of classified UAP imagery and briefings, arguing that the American public—and Congress itself—have been kept in the dark for decades.

The current push is not occurring in isolation. Vice President J. D. Vance has openly expressed fascination with UFOs, while other political figures such as Marco Rubio and Tulsi Gabbard have previously framed the issue as both a national security concern and a legitimate subject of scientific inquiry. This convergence of executive action and congressional pressure has energized long-time disclosure advocates, some of whom now believe that official acknowledgment of non-human intelligence—once unthinkable—may be approaching a tipping point.

Despite the rising momentum, official investigations have so far stopped short of confirming extraterrestrial involvement. Pentagon reviews have repeatedly attributed most sightings to misidentified objects or natural phenomena, underscoring the tension between expectation and evidence.

Still, Trump’s promise of imminent disclosure has transformed the conversation. Whether the coming releases will contain definitive answers—or simply deepen the mystery—remains to be seen.
