    Mark,

NPR just announced that 28 newsroom employees are being laid off or bought out — including veteran journalists who have formed the backbone of NPR's reporting for years — in the wake of Trump's defunding of public media.1

This comes after PBS cut staff by 15%, dozens of local stations announced layoffs, and New Jersey and Arkansas PBS announced that they are shutting down entirely.2,3,4

What's more troubling is that the layoffs we've seen so far may be only just beginning.

As many as 115 additional stations could go off the air unless funding is restored, and legislation is currently moving through Congress that could reverse Trump's defunding of public broadcasting.5

We've mobilized more than 100,000 people to demand full funding for public media, and we're counting on your support to keep up the fight.
