Genocide, the Non-Profit Industrial Complex and the Democratic Party

Discussion about this post

Thank you for naming names! I'm still awaiting responses from our state press association about their position on Julian Assange, and over two Democrat administrations their silence on our state's illegal anti-BDS 'statute' for which the state first tried to pass the buck to the legislature and ultimately to one of our US senators. To me. In writing from the governor's Office of Constituent Engagement. No human name or signature, a failure to engage, and no reply from the US senator whose business it isn't anyway. Is this any way to run a rule of law democratic state let alone a nonprofit? No responses, certainly no imaginative excuses.

Considering any support to Israel in Palestine is illegal, what's a citizen to do when even 'liberal' friends desert law and morals for a political party? Any IMPEDIMENT to the Palestinian people's right to self-determination must be BROUGHT TO AN END. Who beside Ralph Wilde, Francesca Albanese, and Craig Mokhiber bleats a peep about this ICJ opinion nearly two years old, with us having moved Israel how far? Our priorities still seem clearly elsewhere. So thanks for bringing back the focus.

"Moreover, the Court considers that, in view of the character and importance of the rights and obligations involved, all States are under an obligation not to recognize as legal the situation arising from the unlawful presence of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. They are also under an obligation not to render aid or assistance in maintaining the situation created by Israel’s illegal presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. It is for all States, while respecting the Charter of the United Nations and international law, to ensure that any impediment resulting from the illegal presence of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory to the exercise of the Palestinian people of its right to self-determination is brought to an end"
