That was last week's vote in the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee – demanding Azerbaijan's immediate and unconditional release of all Armenian hostages.
A bipartisan victory. Led by a senior Democrat and a powerful Republican chairman. Backed by the ANCA.
Within hours, Azerbaijan's Parliament condemned this vote – which tells you everything you need to know.
They attack us because we’re strong. And we’re strong because you’ve made us strong. And kept us strong.
It’s because of you that our hostages don’t stand alone. That Armenia will never stand alone.
Give us the resources we need to keep fighting for our hostages – against fierce opposition – as a second army of the Armenian nation.
You know we will never bow to our enemies or break under pressure. Never apologize to Aliyev. Never appease Erdogan. Never abandon our hostages.
Never surrender when Armenian soil, security, and sovereignty are at stake.
You know our red lines, because they're your red lines:
– The release of our hostages — after more than 1,000 days in captivity
– The safe return of 150,000 Armenian refugees to our Artsakh homeland
– The protection of our sacred cultural heritage and Christian holy sites
– The removal of all Azerbaijani military forces from Armenian territory
These are our values, because they are your values.
Right now – as I write you this note – Baku is arm-twisting Yerevan to lock in its genocidal gains, and lock out the people of Artsakh.
Help free our hostages and ensure that Armenia never stands alone.
Sirov,
PS – The Azerbaijani Parliament was so quick to condemn the ANCA – so very toxic in its attacks on us – because we’re out front, fighting for our hostages, holding Azerbaijan accountable, and working for Armenia’s future.
