Ralph speaks to Judge Andrew Napolitano about two of Ralph’s abiding concerns: the death undercount in Gaza and the impeachment of Donald Trump. Then, Ralph responds to some of your listener feedback.
Judge Andrew Napolitano is a former Superior Court Judge, a syndicated columnist, and host of the Judging Freedom podcast. Judge Napolitano has taught constitutional law and jurisprudence at Delaware Law School and Seton Hall Law School, and he was Fox News’ Senior Judicial Analyst from 1997 to 2021. He is the author of several books on the U.S. Constitution, including Freedom’s Anchor: An Introduction to Natural Law Jurisprudence in American Constitutional History.
Amongst the mainstream media, with respect to the Netanyahu regime and what it has been doing, there is no intellectual honesty. The mainstream media in the United States is controlled by the lobby. And the lobby, of course, is the Israeli and American donors who control the media and control the government. Our friend Pat Buchanan famously referred to the Congress as “Israeli-occupied territory”. The same may be said about the mainstream media… Don’t expect intellectual honesty from the mainstream media, because anybody who tries it will be looking for a job.

[Donald Trump’s] behavior has simply been tyrannical to the nth degree. Look, he’s been impeached twice—both times for, compared to what he’s done in the second term, a pittance. What he’s done in the second term is absolutely and utterly profound. He has failed to take care that the laws be enforced. He has failed to abide due process. He has failed to protect the right to free speech. He has failed to protect the right to privacy. He has failed to seek Congressional approval before starting wars. He has ordered murders on the high seas. This is a long litany.

The number of innocent civilians killed in Gaza is in the hundreds of thousands. Whatever the reasons for an undercount of the dead, the number is astronomical. That is the definition of a genocide. As a Jew, the shock at minimizing this mass murder is devastating. Israel Shahak, an Israeli chemist, got it right when he said that there exists a minority in a given population that plans and enjoys murder, and a mass of ordinary people who will go along with the murderers. The third group he discussed were those who protest. In societies that commit mass murder, there are many who fit Shahak’s first two groups and many nations throughout history need a huge mirror in which to look into to see those who go along with killing for a whole host of reasons. In Gaza, its land and hatred of a particular class of people, in that case, the Palestinian people.
As far as impeachment, I think Ralph is right in having as many Congressmen and women on board on articles of impeachment now. ICE and immigrants, using the presidency as a cash cow, and conducting war without Congressional authorization are issues that come to mind. If I were to bet on the Congressional elections being derailed by Trump et al. in November, an educated guess is those wrongdoers ending republican democracy in the US. They care about money and power and nothing else.

More effective and quicker than impeachment would be an invocation of the war powers act. Ler's stop the wars in Iran, Gaza, and Ukraine before we take up impeachment.

A good reason not to impeach Trump at this point is that the impeachment will fail in the Senate and then Trump will use it to brag about the attacks on him that failed.

Amy Goodman, Gideon Levy, and Jeremy Scahill are poor examples of the “mainstream media” willingness to sacrifice journalistic and intellectual integrity by not approaching the story of the undercount of deaths in Gaza. Gideon Levy’s regular dispatches from inside Israel reported at great personal risk present a detailed alternative view. And I have no doubt that he is very familiar with the “anti-semitism” accusation. Amy Goodman does not shy away from the issue. In fact, she has had Jeremy Scahill on Democracy now talking about the difficulties of reporting accurate death counts in Gaza.

I wouldn't use the picture of Judge Napolitano that comes up when I go to share this podcast. I know it will turn off a lot of my followers and they won't listen to the podcast. I'm seeing if I can share the url without that picture coming up.
I will never again automatically vote for a Democratic candidate or donate money for their campaign. The Democratic party has shown no backbone to stand up to the totally corrupt Trump administration.
The Democrats have not given the American people a true alternative to the fascism and racism rampant in the U.S. government. This has been going on for a long time. Many Democrats have sided with Trump and other corrupt politicians far too many times.
Both “my” Democratic Senators and my “Representative” in the House all voted in favor of giving Israel more money and weapons so it can continue killing Palestinians.
A number of Democrats supported a budget that funded Trump's gestapo (ICE). Democrats are not nearly doing enough to combat the 34-time convicted felon. His horrible budget attacked many programs (Social Security, medicare, SNAP and others) that helped people who are not rich. Citizens are struggling with the U.S. economy that is only supportive of the wealthy and their corporations.
Meanwhile the bloated U.S. military budget is more than China’s, Russia’s and Germany’s combined. The Pentagon is a huge ponzi scheme. In November 2024, the Pentagon failed to pass its annual audit, meaning that it wasn’t able to fully account for how its $824 billion budget was used. This was the 7th failed audit in a row.
Trump is a traitor who should be in jail for treason after his attempt to overthrow the 2020 elections and inciting violence in Washington D.C. 1/6/21. He’s broken the law of the land (The Constitution) numerous times. We The People want another choice. If Democrats want people’s vote, they’d better offer a real alternative to a government that supports and is basically run by the super wealthy (oligarchy).
Many Americans have lost any trust in the federal government. They know Trump should be in jail for treason for his actions in 2020. The fact that he is not in jail but was even able to run for president and be elected, tells the citizenry there are two systems of justice in the United States. One is for the super wealthy and the other is for the rest of us.
We see no real separation of powers. The Supreme Court shouldn’t be chosen by the President and Congress without their legal qualifications being the number one consideration for their possible appointment - not what their political views are.
For quite some time Supreme Court Justices have been chosen because of their political views. Members of the Supreme Court(including the chief justice John G. Roberts) have taken huge bribes from their super-wealthy supporters.
There were 173.85 million registered voters in the U.S. in 2024. Only 64.7 percent of them voted. This means more than 113 million citizens didn't vote in the last election. Some were eliminated illegally from the voter rolls. However, many didn’t vote because they feel no one is listening to them because they aren’t super wealthy.
The reason this has happened here is that the Democrats and Republicans have been bought and sold by the incredibly rich and have never made the obscenely wealthy or their corporations pay their fair share of taxes.
Even more criminal is the goal of Trump and the Republicans to give the wealthy even more tax breaks by cutting Social Security and Medicare, the postal service and other programs that benefit all of us who aren’t wealthy.
Thanks ,Ralph, for presenting the strategy. But your answer demonstrates why we need to continue a back and forth discussion on this strategy. While you acknowledge my persistence (which is following your advice on what to do to get people in a position to help to help advance a strategy), giving me an hour of your time to discuss this strategy still has not happened.
I already found out a long time ago that people I know were not going to help. Since then I have been following your advice and trying to get people like you to discuss this strategy. It seems that everyone I contact won't talk to me about it until someone else discusses it with me first.
People often ask me why Ralph won't discuss this with me or help . The only way I could answer that question is to have the discussion with Ralph.
Then I could point out that we mostly agree on agenda but disagree on strategy.
Ralph's strategy of hoping the Democrats will campaign on his agenda has not worked for decades. Even when they win control they do little or nothing of what they promised while campaigning. It is a strategy that delivered us Trump and a Congress controlled by the big money interests.
It does little good to talk about agenda if the strategy to implement the agenda does not work.
Your strategy does not work because the Dems are controlled by the big money interests.
In order to implement your agenda we first need to eliminate the big money interests control over the politicians and media.
I could also point out that Ralph is mistaken when he referred to Bernie's campaign as a small donor campaign. Just as there is a difference between a strategy and an agenda there is a difference between a small donor campaign and a small contribution campaign.
Bernie and other politicians that emulated him ran small contribution campaigns.
A small donor is defined as giving 200 dollars or less in total contributions to a campaign (primary or general election). A small contribution campaign reports the size of the individual contributions but not the size of the donor.
Bernie still got more total money from donors giving more than 200 dollars than from true small donors.
It makes no difference if Biden got one contribution from a donor of 2000 dollars or Bernie got forty contributions of fifty dollars from a single donor. Both donors gave 2000 dollars total and are big donors.
Small donors cannot be successful if the candidate takes any money from big donors. Thus the demand to run a small donor campaign in order to get our vote.
Ralph has said politicians want our votes more than big money. Even the guest quoted in the following question said the agenda can't be accomplished until there is campaign finance reform.
But as long as the politicians are controlled by the big money interests there will not be campaign finance reform as those politicians will only pass legislation that primarily benefits the big money interests that have no interest in campaign finance reform.
The problem has to be solved before legislation to solve the problem can be passed.
Yet you refuse to devote one hour to discuss a strategy that can accomplish this goal without legislation and continue promoting a strategy that has gone down in flames for over forty years.
I admire your persistence, but isn't it time to give at least one hour to discussing a different strategy that by your own words on politicians wanting our votes more than big money could work?
I know Steve said that short and relevant comments are printed out and sent to Ralph each week but I hope you will make an exception for this lengthy comment that still just touches on the basic details of this strategy.
