Hong is a grassroots progressive running in the Democratic primary. She’s the daughter of immigrants and has served as a state assembly member while continuing to work and raise her child as a single mother. Hong is not just representative of working class interests; she is a representative of the working class itself. If she wins in Wisconsin, it will be yet more evidence that progressive change-agents can win anywhere in the U.S.
As governor, she’ll push for universal childcare and paid leave in Wisconsin. She also wants to create a state public bank to make sure working families get loans without dealing with predatory banks.
The August 11th primary is just weeks away — and you can already request your absentee ballot! The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is August 6th — request yours today. Early in-person voting runs from July 28 through August 9.
