B X Lee -- A Nation in Dangerous Denial
A Nation in Dangerous Denial
Madness is Measured by Degree of Denial—Yet Psychiatrists are Still Not Consulted!
Not only has the U.S. become the laughingstock of all the world in all human history, there can no longer be any doubt in even the most backward corner of the globe that this nation is a greater danger to civilization than any other. Not only is it allowing a profoundly-sick president to lead itself down a cliff, it is dragging the World Order with it.
And even as every other country is obviously consulting psychological experts on how strategically to coddle, control, and manipulate this mentally-feeble man, our own nation would rather sink with the Titanic than admit that we have a psychiatric case for a leader. This is the very definition of psychiatric illness—and the severity of illness is determined by the degree of adamant denial that anything is psychiatric.
It is rare that an entire nation—and increasingly the world—engages in this level of denial. Psychiatrists see it routinely in patients: while insisting they are not ill, they run as far from psychiatrists and hospitals as they possibly could. Why fear these things, if one is convinced one is mentally well? It is because deep down one knows and fears the truth the most. It is at this time that the psychiatrist is given the authority to force treatment—because, once they return to their healthy mind, patients are usually thankful for the treatment they have received. Apparently, the prison in which mental illness traps them is worse than all the hospitalization, restraint, and forced treatment they receive.
When this level of illness descends on a nation, what is one to do?
Psychiatrists ordinarily command law enforcement, ambulance staff, nurses, etc. If anyone contests them, they can give their medical case in court. At the national level, they are consultants who know what needs to be done, but what if no one who can do something consults them? Where can they turn?
They turn to the public, and this is why it is critical that the public have correct understanding. An astute article appeared in Gulf Times, entitled: “The Bulldozer in the White House and the Sycophant Enablers”:
America has never seen a president like Donald Trump. That much is beyond dispute. What remains disputed is what to call him.
He calls himself a genius. He has said his IQ is “one of the highest—and you all know it.”
We now know the difference between reality and a fantasy that someone forces on people, precisely because it is untrue.
He built a business empire, or so the legend goes.
In fact, his companies have filed for corporate bankruptcy four times—casinos in Atlantic City among them—each restructuring shielding him personally while lenders absorbed the loss.
Indeed, each concession has shielded him further from consequences, with the American people, the American nation, and now human civilization absorbing the loss. There will continue to be victims until the “bulldozer” is stopped.
He wrote The Art of the Deal, or so the cover says.
The truth is smaller and stranger. Trump inherited his father’s fortune. He did not build it from nothing….
He had everyone do everything for him because he couldn’t, and he rose to the top on the pathological need to deny his incompetence.
Trump also believes he is a great orator.
He is not, and the gap between the two is a case study in itself…. “I’ll talk about, like, nine different things,” he explained at one rally, “and they all come back brilliantly together.”
Wishful thinking intensifies with real-life loss of coherence and reasoning, and people are responding not to his “brilliance” but his need for people to believe in his brilliance. It begins with deception and manipulation but then morphs into coercion, threats, and intimidation, until it finally turns into violence.
What Trump has … is appetite. He does not debate. He devours.
In the 2015 Republican primary, he faced 16 rivals and the presumptive favourite, Jeb Bush, scion of a dynasty.
Trump reduced him to two words: “low energy”.
Bush never recovered. He turned on Marco Rubio next, mocking his height and his sweat.
Rubio hit back hard.
“A con artist is about to take over the Republican party,” he warned, calling Trump “erratic” and unfit to hold “the nuclear codes.”
It did not matter. Trump won anyway. Rubio, having called him a con man, is now his Secretary of State.
This is the pattern of the Trump era in miniature: the insult, the outrage, the surrender.
Now the whole world is surrendering to him: not to Donald Trump the person, but to his sickness, which has “bulldozed” others and will eventually engulf himself as well. Only Iran has stood up to him, whose fury has revealed his madness for the whole world to see.
He posted on Truth Social, threatening to bomb Iran’s power plants and bridges, and told Tehran’s leaders to open “the ... Strait, you crazy (pejorative title)”….
This is not diplomacy. It is dominance theatre, performed for an audience that has learned to applaud….
Harvard historian Elizabeth Lunbeck [claims]: Trump’s narcissism is not an obstacle to his power. It is the source of it.
We can stop calling it, “power”, but call it what it is: pathology. The article mentions us:
A growing body of clinicians has tried, for a decade now, to name what they are watching.
Yale-trained forensic psychiatrist Bandy Lee organised dozens of colleagues to warn that Trump showed signs of “malignant normality”—a society persuaded to accept a leader’s false reality simply because he insists on it.
We are living it now. Donald Trump has made a world power of Iran, a mockery of the U.S., and a casualty of American credibility. Imagine where we would be now, had we responded correctly instead of choosing denial. We still could.
Congress will not check him; too many of its members, like Rubio, have already made their peace.
The Gulf will not check him; it has spent a decade learning that flattery buys access….
Europe has learned the same lesson as the Gulf.
The article concludes:
The tragedy is not that Trump is loud…. The tragedy is the silence around him….
Bulldozers do not stop themselves. People stop them.
And here in the U.S., the People literally must. Stop propping up a paper tiger. Confront him, contain him, and hold him accountable for his crimes. Consult the right experts. Hospitalize him for his dangerous symptoms, and allow him to get treatment.
Then maybe, just maybe, we might spare ourselves complete humiliation before the world and slowly bring ourselves back to sanity.
Announcement:
Dr. Bandy X. Lee will hold her next “emergency psychiatric meeting” on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 5 p.m. EDT / 2 p.m. PDT, to discuss the urgencies at hand and what to do about them. She will hold her next planning meeting for Survival University on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 5 p.m. EDT / 2 p.m. PDT, to lay the groundwork for long-term survival. Paid subscribers will receive a link an hour before meeting times.
(In response to some of your concerns that these meetings are not happening often enough, Dr. Lee will be partnering again with Anthony Davis of “The Weekend Show” for weekly appearances! Stay tuned for more information.)

Our Prime Minister just called him out and walked away. Perhaps more will follow his lead. 🇨🇦
Dr Lee,
You are in a dangerous denial. You only see Trump as a mental patient creating all this chaos and destruction. But all you see is chaos & destruction and Trump being the prime object causing it.
There are bigger forces above & beyond Trump - the oligarchs & corporations - who have brought Trump to power and who're keeping Trump in power. Their goal is dismantling of American democracy and 'rule of law' in America.
Yes, Donald Trump is unhinged and it's impossible to manage him like planned script. But that is why he's a perfect instrument to demolish US democracy. The forces supporting Trump - people like Musk & Thiel - do not believe in any democracy or societal norms or national institutions. They see themselves as above everything. So they afflicted Donald Trump on America - a bulldozer who will raze everything to the ground. And the oligarchs will emerge as supreme rulers in post-democracy America.
Donald Trump is just a variable, an instrument created to demolish your political institutional system. Undoubtedly he's a deeply unstable person but his pathology now means little. What matters are the people who wield him like a weapon.
So focus your energy on powers that are really behind Trump.
