TELL THE U.S. HOUSE: Trump's budget director Russell Vought, the far-right architect of Project 2025, faces articles of impeachment for illegally weaponizing federal funding to punish Democratic-led states. Sign the petition: Impeach Vought!Mark,
Trump's budget director Russell Vought admitted that the White House withheld federal grants from Democratic-led states "based solely" on political criteria like how the states voted in the 2024 election.1,2
Vought, the far-right architect of Project 2025 and head of Trump's Office of Management and Budget, terminated billions in Congressionally-approved grants for clean energy projects in states that didn't vote for Trump in 2024.3
Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove introduced articles of impeachment against Vought for this abuse of power and failing to execute the laws of the United States.4 The House must hold Vought, and this administration, accountable.
Rep. Kamlager-Dove said, "We cannot sit idly by while an unelected shadow president continues to weaponize the federal government and steal taxpayers’ hard-earned money."5
The Trump administration has repeatedly attempted to illegally block federal funding to Democratic-led states over the last 18 months. It's an authoritarian crusade to punish those that oppose Trump's right-wing agenda.
Vought helped Trump set the stage to eviscerate vital federal funding with Project 2025. Now, he's trampling on the Constitution to enact Trump’s far-right agenda.
Thanks for taking action,
Joey and the team at Demand Progress
