Tell your senators: Todd Blanche is unfit to be attorney general
 |
On Tuesday, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to move forward with Todd Blanche, Trump’s attorney general nominee. It took a long time to get to this vote, which was delayed from last week, because Republican senators had to confront an uncomfortable truth: Todd Blanche is completely unfit to be America’s next attorney general. He announced the settlement that would’ve created a $1.8 billion slush fund for Trump cronies and January 6 rioters. Now Blanche is saying the fund won’t happen, but nothing prevents him from simply reestablishing it if he’s confirmed He showed a horrifying lack of empathy to Jeffrey Epstein’s victims and has stonewalled on fully releasing the Epstein files And he served as Trump’s personal lawyer during the Stormy Daniels “hush money” case, the classified documents case, and the election obstruction case
While Republicans on the Judiciary Committee folded to Trump’s pressure and Blanche’s toothless assurances, not every senator has made up their mind. There’s only one chance left to prevent Trump’s fixer from becoming attorney general and prevent the Department of Justice from becoming a Trump revenge agency. |
