Friend, here’s what is happening in Washington this week:  Wednesday — A hearing on Flock's surveillance camera network in the Senate Judiciary Committee. This is the first hearing on Flock Safety since Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) launched an investigation into the company, and an opportunity for us to demand an end to warrantless surveillance and the data broker loophole, which lets federal law enforcement bypass Fourth Amendment rights by purchasing people’s data from private brokers.   Thursday — The Senate Armed Services Committee is convening for a private, closed-door hearing on skyrocketing defense spending. Your senators will be discussing mounting Pentagon budget requests and hopefully, unanswered questions about the Iran war, low munitions, and other national concerns. We are urgently pushing for meetings with those offices so they have our updated reforms for cutting waste and increasing safety and efficiency in hand.  Also on Thursday — The Senate is set to take another vote on a war powers resolution to end the Iran war. Your representatives in the House passed the resolution last week. We’re urging your senators to assert their war powers and bring a definitive end to this illegal, drawn-out, wasteful war.

At the end of the week, your senators are likely leaving Washington until after the November elections — with unfinished business at hand.
