    We are UltraViolet

    Dear Mark,

When UltraViolet launched the campaign calling on Ulta to drop Flock, our hope was that Ulta leadership might actually respond to the safety concerns of its majority-women customer base. And when the campaign picked up momentum and media coverage, we got even more optimistic.1,2,3

Instead, Ulta continues to ignore and even censor us, all while posting about bedazzled mascara and glitter eyeshadow as if we’re going to forget about Flock.4 Here’s a news flash for Ulta: we are NOT moving on from this until we get answers and a commitment to cut ties with Flock and ALL creepy surveillance tech putting women and kids at risk.

Mark, can you help us send that message loud and clear to Ulta by commenting on one of Ulta’s most recent LinkedIn, Instagram, or Facebook posts demanding a response about their ties to Flock? Simply tap the links below to post your message on one of their recent posts using our easy-to-use toolkit. We’ve drafted a template message you can use, or you can write your own.

No social media? No problem! Share the toolkit with someone in your life who does, or share the petition directly. HUGE thank you to all of you who have already left comments. Unfortunately, Ulta keeps posting as if it's not fueling a mass surveillance state that’s endangering our lives, so we have to keep the pressure turned up high on social media: the beauty industry’s stomping ground.

To be honest, Ulta’s behavior feels insulting and sexist. The fact that CEO Kecia Steelman and her fellow executives are acting as though we’ll accept the loss of our privacy if it comes with a fabulous matte lipstick is disturbing and belittling. We will not be sold this lie, and we will not be distracted, because we know that privacy and beauty are not and should never be mutually exclusive!

Please consider leaving a comment to Ulta using this easy toolkit, and share with your community if you agree this fight is worthwhile.

    In gratitude,

    --Jenna and the UltraViolet team
