Mark,
JD Vance has some strong words for people who sell access to the White House.
“That’s disgusting and despicable, and they should suffer consequences,” the vice president declared.
So, someone should probably tell him what Donald Trump has been doing.
President Trump has monetized public service in his second term. Whether that’s selling access to the White House with his memecoin, selling advance access to his Truth Social posts, or granting pardons to those who can spend a fortune lobbying his administration, he’s profited massively from his return to office.
Selling presidential access to the highest bidder is straight out of Trump's corrupt playbook. If JD Vance or anyone else in Trump’s orbit needs proof, CREW has the receipts.
If you have time to read more, we have the receipts—and they are damning.
Here are just some of the ways Trump is profiting off the presidency:
Fifteen companies have contributed to at least three of Donald Trump’s projects, including his White House ballroom, presidential library, inauguration and politicized celebrations of America's 250th anniversary. These aren't core functions of the presidency—they're yet more opportunities for wealthy interests to get Trump's attention and gain influence.
Twenty current and former Trump cabinet members have directed at least $30 million to Trump through political contributions, property visits, stock holdings and donations to Trump pet projects.
Trump has monetized his public statements by charging $100,000 per month for advance access to official government announcements on Truth Social.
Trump gave his biggest political donor the power to completely reshape the federal government and cut countless programs Americans depend on.
And Mark, that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Trump selling off access to the presidency.
JD Vance says this kind of corruption is disgusting and deserves consequences. And yes, we agree. So let's see if he’s willing to hold his own boss accountable.
Trump has made billions while blurring the line between public service and private profit. And every time wealthy donors get special access, ordinary Americans have more reason to wonder whose interests this administration is actually serving.
