Seth post on facebook where the poster addressed 'patriarchy'

This is my reaction to Susan Brame's Oct 4 post about patriarchy and our messed up world:

From Wikipedia: 'Patriarchy is a social system in which positions of authority are primarily held by men. The term patriarchy is used both in anthropology to describe a family or clan controlled by the father or eldest male or group of males, and in feminist theory to describe a broader social structure **in which men as a group dominate society**.' Seth was very fussy in the terms he used to describe things such as the well-known example of 'All That Is' for 'God,' and one gets 0 hits at nowdictation for 'patriarchy.' https://nowdictation.com/q/exact:Patriarchy/ Same for 'patriarchal.' This is not to say what is outlined in the post is inaccurate. I, personally, agree it outlines major problems we collectively have and need to address, and I am no fan of Trump. Somewhere Seth said -- paraphrasing -- that even a very bad individual inadvertently does good by providing an example of how not to be. I think the term 'patriarchy' is too 'surface,' that it makes it seem men have fucked up the world when both men and women in a 'you create your own reality sense' had a hand in things. "Generally speaking, there will be a specific overall sexual orientation of a biological nature, but the mental and emotional human characteristics are simply not meted out according to sex. Such identification cuts the individual in half, so that each person uses but half of his or her potential. **This causes a schism in all of your cultural activities**." —Seth, The Nature of the Psyche, Session 773, April 26, 1976 I know of some women Sethniks who have a women-only Seth discussion group! And from Session 774: 'The so-called war of the sexes originates in the artificial divisions that you have placed about the nature of the self. The psyche’s reality is beyond such misunderstandings.' Patriarchy is a handy tag, but its definition is rooted in 'the war of the sexes' in my view. And, again, Seth never used the term when describing our collective challenges. Just my 2 cents. Thanks.

P.S. Some Seth on terminology: “The designations spirit, and medium and so forth, are ridiculous to begin with. You are simply using inner senses. These senses are not magical, they certainly are not religious in any sense of the word, and I am not some degenerating secondary personality of Ruburt’s.... This meeting and our other meetings are not seances, and your experiments with your friend Mark are not seances, according to the implications usually given. So-called seances, when they are legitimate, are simply exercises in the use of the inner senses....' --The Early Sessions: Book 1; Session 20, 1/29/64
