Mark,
Meta shut down the No Kings coalition’s Instagram account on Saturday in the middle of a nationwide day of action. Organizers were locked out of the account for hours … and Meta is now claiming its automated systems made a mistake.
We’re not buying it. This is the same company that rewrote its political-content policies to please Donald Trump before he even took office for his second term.
To Mark Zuckerberg and Meta leadership:
Your automated systems shut down the No Kings coalition’s Instagram account during a nationwide day of action, locking organizers out for several hours.
This is part of a pattern.
We’re calling on you to stop capitulating to the Trump administration and stand up for your users instead.

This kind of behavior is typical for Meta. Last fall, the company caved to the Justice Department and removed the account for a Chicago-based Facebook group tracking ICE sightings.1 Reproductive-rights advocates have also reported Meta taking down their accounts without warning.2
It all follows a now-familiar pattern: Meta keeps bending to this administration, and organizers keep losing their ability to connect with supporters.
Thanks for taking action,
Candace and all of us at Free Press
P.S. Meta changed its political-content policies to please Trump before he was sworn into office. Now organizers are losing access to their accounts.
