Tell USPS to oppose privatization, protect vote-by-mail, and expand services
 |
The USPS Board of Governors is holding its once-yearly public comment session on November 10, and it’s critical for board members to hear from members of the public. This is your opportunity to speak out about issues that matter to you: The Postal Service wants to implement a rule for future elections that would allow it to determine how states design their mailed ballots and to refuse to deliver ballots to anyone not on certain lists. You can stand up for vote-by-mail and oppose unworkable changes to mail-in voting. Donald Trump still wants to privatize the Postal Service, which could lead to cost increases, post office closures, and route cuts. You can speak out to oppose any effort to privatize USPS operations. USPS should do more to help people by offering services like postal banking — which would allow everyone, including low-income families and people who don’t live near banks, to access banking services at their local post office. You can advocate for the Postal Service to provide banking services around the country.
If any of these issues are important to you, now is the time to make your voice heard. Last year, comments from Public Citizen supporters caught the attention of the Postal Board of Governors. So we’re putting together a comment letter to submit at the public meeting again this year, and we need as many people as possible to co-sign it. |
